20. Vegan Cabbage Rolls

20. Vegan Cabbage Rolls

These vegan cabbage rolls are stuffed with lentils, grains, and seasonings, and taste similar to Polish golabki. Cabbage is one of the few green vegetables in season this time of year. It seemed like cabbage rolls and I were meant to be. Be sure you have cooked lentils and grain on hand before beginning this delicious but somewhat time-consuming recipe. I advise cooking them the day before. You can also mix the filling ingredients and store them in the refrigerator until you’re ready to make the rolls. This is one of the most delicious vegan appetizers I have tried till now.

19. Vegan Spinach Artichoke Dip

Vegan Spinach Artichoke Dip

Spinach artichoke dip is an all-time crowd-favourite appetizer. The base is instead made of a simple puréed cashew cream seasoned with nutritional yeast, sautéed shallot and garlic, salt, and pepper. We went for fresh spinach, but you can always use frozen if that’s what you have on hand (just be sure to thaw and squeeze out excess liquid before use). And once the spinach and artichokes are combined with the sauce, simply bake for a few minutes until bubbly and hot. Then serve. Swoon! It’s so delicious and one of the best Vegan Thanksgiving appetizers you are gonna try.

18. Chickpea Shawarma Dip

Chickpea Shawarma Dip

A seven-layer shawarma dip that we’re topping with crunchy, oven-roasted chickpeas. We’ll toss the garbanzo beans in my homemade shawarma seasoning and roast them off! Then, just layer it all in a dish! I don’t think I’d be doing my job if I didn’t bring you food fit for the long weekend celebration to come that not only looked and tasted as phenomenal as this layered dip but also hit the checkmark of ‘easy to pull together. Let’s imagine: layers of creamy, dreamy hummus with roasted, shawarma-scented chickpeas, crumbled feta cheese, and a bright, fresh parsley salad. Best of all, it’s a recipe that uses ingredients most of us already have in the fridge.

17. Sweet Potato Mini Samosas

17. Sweet Potato Mini Samosas

One of the most popular Indian appetizers, these sweet potato samosas are savoury filled pastry triangles with potato, peas and spices served with an easy mango and mint sauce. These vegetable samosas are a slight departure from the traditional potato filling, using sweet potatoes that add a hint of sweetness. Making samosa are easier than you would think and become easier with practice. Achieving the triangle shape is the hardest part. They don’t have to be perfect, but they do need to be well-sealed so the filling does not spill out when frying. The traditional way of cooking vegetable samosas is shallow frying. This makes the dough so crispy and really good. You can bake them, but the outcome is really not the same.

16. Vegan Stuffed Mushrooms

 Vegan Stuffed Mushrooms

These Vegan Stuffed Mushrooms truly are THE best! Hearty and well-spiced, these little umami bombs make the perfect appetizer or side dish. Gluten & Grain-Free. I’ve recently come to the conclusion that these Vegan Stuffed Mushrooms are my new favourite Vegan appetizers. Stuffed mushrooms are “classically” made with a cheese and bread crumb filling. We’ll be skipping both of those today, and I promise you won’t miss them! We’re combining buttery toasted nuts with delicious warming spices, and a bit of red wine to create a mouth-watering filling that melts in your mouth.

15. Texas Caviar

Texas Caviar

This Texas caviar (Cowboy caviar) will have everyone crowded around the bowl! It’s full of big, zesty flavour and perfect for parties and cookouts. This combo of black-eyed peas, veggies and a vinaigrette dressing is equal parts zesty and comforting: and you can use it as a chip dip or healthy side dish. Our favourite recipe has loads of colourful veggies, cilantro and jalapenos, and a simple zingy dressing with the perfect flavour. Even better: this party dip happens to be a vegan and gluten-free appetizer that’s full of plant-based protein. It’s too delicious and one of the best Vegan Thanksgiving appetizers you will ever get. PLUS, I am serving them up with the BEST vegan basil aioli dipping sauce! Whether you make these in the air fryer or the oven (I have instructions for both), you aren’t going to want to miss this one! Making these little guys is seriously easy. Prep your breading station, spray the air fryer basket with olive oil and cook for 10 minutes. You will probably need to work in batches – unless you have one of those air fryers that has multiple trays. But if your air fryer is like mine, it will take 2-3 batches to get all of these done.

13. Chickpea Bruschetta with Sun-dried Tomatoes

 Chickpea Bruschetta with Sun-dried Tomatoes

This Chickpea bruschetta with sun-dried tomatoes was made with a rather loose plan of blending a few pantry ingredients together in my food processor and crossing my fingers it came out delicious. I’m happy to report, the experiment was a success! The sun-dried tomato chickpea spread has a lot of the Mediterranean flavours of a white bean dip, but a bit more of the texture of a rustic hummus. It tasted really fresh and delicious for a summer snack, but I’m going to keep this recipe in my back pocket for some easy holiday entertaining Vegan appetizers too!

12. Pumpkin Hummus

Pumpkin Hummus

This easy pumpkin hummus is perfect for fall and takes only 10 minutes to whip up! Many pumpkin recipes are sweet, but this savoury pumpkin recipe is killer. The idea of combining that ubiquitous fall vegetable with chickpeas into savoury hummus seemed a little odd at first. Alex and I were a bit wary but loved the idea of seasonal pumpkin hummus. And now we’re converts! It’s surprisingly good: creamy, savoury and with an undertone of autumnal goodness. This easy hummus recipe is quick to whip up: just 10 minutes in a food processor. This is one of the best Vegan Thanksgiving appetizers so far for pumpkin.

10. Vegan Buffalo Tofu Nuggets

Vegan Buffalo Tofu Nuggets

These Baked Buffalo Tofu Nuggets are a fun gluten-free snack or side dish! Serve with a vegan ranch dip for the ultimate Vegan appetizer. I was even surprised by how amazing these turned out. They’re crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and they have the perfect flavour thanks to our homemade vegan buffalo sauce. Tofu is firmer and the breadcrumb coating offers a much crispier texture. Cauliflower is softer and the baked batter makes for a tasty, but softer texture. The cauliflower batter doesn’t get crispy the same way the breadcrumb coating in this tofu nugget recipe does! These are so delicious that you are gonna crave more once you taste these Vegan appetizers.

9. Sun-Dried Tomato, Basil and Spinach Pinwheels

Sun-Dried Tomato, Basil and Spinach Pinwheels

This sun-dried tomato, basil, and spinach pinwheels make a perfect party appetizer or light lunch. They take about 15 minutes to make and are a healthy alternative to pinwheels made with cream cheese. They look so fancy when plated as a delicate little roll-up. Don’t you think? Sprinkled with a dusting of crushed pine nuts and a basil leaf – you’ve gone gourmet in 15 minutes flat. Impressive. Creamy Sun-Dried Tomato Basil Pinwheels are perfect for picnics, potlucks, road trips or snacking at home! No cooking or baking, just a delicious sandwich in 5 minutes! The ingredients hold up well and so it is a great thing to bring to the park, sports games, on-the-go dinners in the car, and in a lunch box.

8. Vegan Caramelized Onion And Mushroom Tart

8. Vegan Caramelized Onion And Mushroom Tart

Yum…Mushroom and Caramelized Onion Tart: a flakey puff pastry topped with balsamic caramelized onions, sautéed garlicky mushrooms, and topped with whatever you’d like! A definite crowd-pleaser. When it starts to get chilly out, there’s nothing like a warm, bubbly tart to fill your belly. Having no crust, the creamy onion and mushroom filling in these tarts caramelize beautifully in a hot oven. Add to that some fresh thyme and salty capers, and you’ve got yourself some very special tarts. Serve for dinner with a side of greens. It’s one of the best Vegan Thanksgiving appetizers I have ever tasted.

7. Soft Pretzel Bites (vegan)

Soft Pretzel Bites (vegan)

These soft pretzel bites are exactly like regular homemade soft pretzels but shaped into smaller pieces. The dough requires just 6 ingredients and there’s hardly any rise time, so this is a wonderful recipe for yeast beginners. Have fun shaping the bites (they don’t need to be perfect!) and enjoy warm flavorful homemade pretzels within an hour. Serve plain, cinnamon sugar style, or with your favourite dips such as spicy cheese sauce or stone ground mustard.

3. Vegan Mushroom Cream Cheese Wontons

 Vegan Mushroom Cream Cheese Wontons

These stuffed mushroom cream cheese Wontons might just be one of my favourite recipes ever on my site. They are insanely addictive, satisfy all stuffed mushroom cravings and are just SO GOOD they make me swoon. I swoon over food…don’t you too? The basics of these are all the flavors of a stuffed mushroom, wrapped in a crisp wonton shell. Cream cheese, Boursin, sautéed mushrooms and shallots, parsley and garlic make up the filling, which is then spoon onto a wonton wrapper, folded in half and fried. They are molten-lava hot when they come out of the fryer (just like a stuffed mushroom when it comes out of the oven!), so beware. Not that I mind burning the roof of my mouth to pop one!

2. Vegan French Onion Dip

Vegan French Onion Dip

This homemade French onion dip puts the store-bought kind to shame! Creamy, tangy, and packed with umami flavor, it’s sure to vanish in minutes. For me, there’s almost nothing more nostalgic than French onion dip and ridged potato chips. They take me right back to the holiday parties of my childhood, where store-bought tubs of French onion dip had a permanent spot on the snack table. Unlike most homemade French onion dip recipes, this one is completely vegan and dairy-free! Instead of making the base with sour cream, mayonnaise, and/or cream cheese, I use my go-to cashew sour cream recipe. The cashews give it a luscious creamy texture, and Dijon mustard, lemon juice, white wine vinegar, and onion powder make it tangy and savory.
